The dialogue in this book is unbelievably stiff and unrealistic. When I try to get into the story, I keep getting stuck on the weird conversations these kids have. Nobody in high school talks like this. Wes was described as having a 'soulful stare' within the first few sentences of having met him. All downhill from there. At some point she is instant messaging him and says she has to get her "panties out of the dryer". Her desperation was sickening.
