Blood, Bones, and Butter: The Inadvertent Education of a Reluctant Chef - Gabrielle Hamilton This was the first book read by the book club while I was in culinary school. I was really interested in getting ahold of it, but all the reviews seriously overrated it. Hamilton's writing style is the best part of her memoir. Somehow she weaves anecdotes together in a way that you don't realize she's taken you through several years of her life story. I didn't come away from this with a sympathetic view on the author. She spent a good portion of the book on how amazingly talented and hardcore and supposedly original she is in the kitchen.
